Vodafone 3G USB Stick users might have noticed that the stick doesn’t works upon inserting SIM other than Vodafone.The
Data card promises you to give high internet speed anywhere.With a top
speed of 3.6 Mbps its one of the best Huawei USB modem.This tutorial
will show how you can use any SIM on Vodafone USB Stick to access the
internet.All you need few tools and firmware.Although this post is
specially written for Vodafone USB stick this works for all other Data
Card manufactured by Huawei (Idea Netsetter,BSNL 3G etc).Before trying
this method make sure your VMC lite software is installed and the Stick
is working fine on Vodafone Network.Whats more you can even make and
receive voice calls,video calls from the Stick using the Mobile Partner
software.
The blue light glowing up giving indications that the device is getting a 3G Network
–>First find the IMEI number
of the USB Stick.Its written on the USB Stick itself.In case IMEI no. is
not written on the data card you can use the DC Unlocker Client to find the IMEI no.
–>Download all these necessary files & the firmware from here or through Reference site,Forums mentioned at the end of this post.
–>You need to find the Unlock
Code for your modem. Run “Huawei Unlocker”.Type in the IMEI code &
Calculate code.Copy down Unlock Code.
–>Run “CardLock UnLock” and
then type in the Unlock Code when you just noted down.Press OK and wait
for the Unlocked successfully message.
–>The USB stick is now
unlocked but it won’t work now.First uninstall the VMC Lite software
that comes with the stick.Make a backup of the files on the USB Stick.
–>Now its time to flash the
Data Card.Run the installer “Mobile Partner UTPS16.001.06.01.500”.Go
through the Steps carefully and wait for the process to complete.
That’s it now open the Mobile
Partner software and you will be able to use the Stick on any
Network.This is what your Stick will look like after Flashing.
